About Me

Writing my About Me box was a lot harder than I thought it would be. It's pretty difficult to think of just the right things to say about yourself to make people interested enough to stick around and read but at the same time trying not to come across as too desperate to have people stick around and read.
As I thought about my About Me box today and what I had written last night, it brought up a memory which has been stored away to the all time Top 10 memories section of my brain. For my birthday this past year, I asked for plane tickets for my daughter and I to go visit my best friend in Pittsburgh, PA. After we arrived and were settling in to my friend's apartment, my daughter Aidyn started asking questions. She's 3 so she's really interested in how people are related to her and how they fit into her life. Aidyn wanted to know just how Karen fit into her life. We started to explain that "Auntie" Karen was Mommy's friend, but Aidyn being pretty darn smart cut right to the chase and asked, "Auntie Karen, are we family?" "Yeah. Yeah, Aidyn, we're family".
That short conversation pretty much sums up my About Me box. My family is #1 and my friends are my family. To me it's all one and the same.

What would your About Me box say?
